Bid Opening Changes
The Department will be allowing in person attendance at our Bid Openings starting on June 8th, 2022. You can join us in the main conference room at the Augusta Headquarters Building at 16 Child Street. (Please read instructions posted on the main entrance.) The marked receptacle at the main entrance will remain in use for your convenience.
The Department still encourages use of our online bidding system, Bid Express. If you have a paper bid that you are delivering to the MaineDOT office, you can drop it into the marked receptacle at any time of day on any day of the week at the main entrance of the Augusta Headquarters Building. You can also drop it off at the front desk during business hours. Call George Macdougall at 207-624-3353 or 207-624-3000 if you have any questions. All deliveries from the U.S. Post Office, FedEx, etc. will be received as usual. For more information on Bid Express contact Guy Berthiaume at 207-624-3534 or Guy.Berthiaume@maine.gov. (Not all projects accept Electronic Bids through Bid Express. Please review the Notice to Contractors and see if it specifically states that Electronic Bids will be accepted.)

SPECIAL NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Transition from TrnsPort Expedite to AASHTOWare Project Bids
Effective with the April 3, 2019 Letting, the Department will be switching from TrnsPort Expedite to AASHTOWare Project Bids, Bid component. Each contractor will be required to obtain a new Digital ID and download the new software prior to bidding in the April 3, 2019 Letting. A link to the Project Bids is available in the Downloads section of Bid Express.
Bid Express is leading this process. Maine DOT encourages all vendors to work with the Bid Express Customer Service Team to facilitate this transition until complete.
In preparation for bidding with the new software, AASHTOWare Project Bids Bid component, please ensure you have done the following prior to bidding:
1. Download the new software.
2. Create your new Digital ID for the Bids component.
3. After you receive notification that the Digital ID has been enabled, request to bid with the Maine DOT. The agency will receive your request and will approve or reject
you for bidding. You will not be able to bid to the agency until the agency has approved your request.
Bid Express suggests that all vendors install Project Bids - Bid, conduct tests, and train staff, as soon as possible, to assist in a smooth transition.

ALL projects advertised after November 1st, 2014 will need to follow the November 2014 Edition of the MaineDOT Standard Specifications.
