Project Letting Information

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is migrating from Expedite to AASHTOWare Project Bids beginning with the January 25, 2019 letting.  Bidding files for the January 25, 2019 letting will only work with the AASHTOWare Project Bids application.  Users will need to download the AASHTOWare Project Bid Software (link in the downloads section on the right side of this page), and then obtain a new Digital ID. 

Please be aware that the name of a Digital ID holder must match exactly to the name as shown on the current ALDOT pre-qualification form as an authorized person to sign a bid document for your company.  Example:  If the name on your Digital ID with Bid Express is "James"  and the name shown on your pre-qualification form is "Jim", your request to bid with ALDOT will be placed "on hold" with Bid Express until you have submitted an updated Bid Authorization to ALDOT with the name(s) that match the Digital ID(s) for your company.

Bidders submitting bids via Bid Express are reminded that the documents listed below must be delivered to the ALDOT Proposals Engineer, prior to the time set for the opening of bids in a sealed envelope.

• The complete original Proposal Form
• A fully executed bid bond
• A copy of their Alabama General Contractors License
• An HR-DBE Form, accurate at the time of submittal
• A fully executed Federal-Aid Funded Projects Certificate or 100% State Funded Projects Certificate
• On 100% State Funded Projects, a Non-resident Contractor must submit a recent letter from an Attorney in his/her hme state describing that state's treatment of non-resident contractors
